**Tit-Bit" for Suhi,
The tit-bit for subs to-day, how- ever, is the Valley Stakes and, as I have said, there is bound to be Tarney (Mr. very large feld. Heard up) will probably be a big favourite and punters can be sure if they back Tunney that they will! get a good nih for their money as "dab with subs. Mr. Heard is A. I daresay there will be a large number of backers on Azalea Leaf (Mr. Wong up) and theso also will seo a good exhibition by their candi date as Azalea Leaf is undoubtedly one of the best subs this season. Mr. Wong rin bo depended upon to get all there in out of Arilen Leaf in today's classic race for subs.
I still think he is good enough for third place, since the opposition here
is not very strong..
Malden Stakes.
The griffins have two interesting races to-day. The first of these in the Maiden Stakes and the, second the Hopeful Stakes, In the Maidens, I think avery jockey in the Colony (barring novices) will have a mount. Mr. Dunbar will probably send out Förtung Bay and Champagne Bay here in charge of Messrs. Hill and Sokoloff. It is difficult to say, which is the better animal but possibly Mr. Hill will choose what, in the stable's opinion, is the better candidate, so back this jockey. I rather fancy that Tiann and Sam Houston, will be kept for the Hopeful Stakes, but if they are sent out in the Maidens instead, watch them. I think, on the whole, that the race will fall to the Dunbar selected candidate, so keep your eyes on him.
