FRANK GOODWIN'S BOWLING FEAT: F. D. PEREIRA WITH BAT AND BALL.
Only one Lengue match was decided over the week-end and that was the Police-Engineers affair which resulted in a win for the former. There were, however, four friendlies, and despite the fact that weather and ground conditions were none too favourable, some very fine individual scores were returned.
Hong Kong Cricket Club were beaten in both divisions by the Kowloon Cricket Club. Frank Goodwin coming off with flying golours in the senior game when he took seven wickets for only four runa apiece.
The Indians again got the better of the Civil Servicò Cricket Club, in their first division friendly, but in the second, the Civil Service C.C. once niore proved their seperiority although they were samowhat fortunate in winning. F. D. Pereira; the I.R.C. fast bowler, came off with both bat and ball, making 98 runs aud tak ing five wickets for 30 runs. ·

Then
Taking first knock, the Indians started very badly, losing two wickets for only 14 runs F. D. Pereira and A. A. Rum- jahn settled down to play bright cricket to enable the side to reach 180 for the loss of four wickets when the innings was declared close. The former was unfortunate in get- ting out when he needed but we runs to reach the magical three figures. He had a merry stay at the wickets during the course of which he sent the ball to the ropes on no less than eighteen occasions. Rumjahn's knock was a very pretty one and he showed a glimpse of his old form, timing his shots very well to get fourteen fours.
Batting only nine men, the J. E. visitors totalled 138 ruis. Richardson batted well for his 43 runs while F. Baker helped with 20 and G. R. Buyer 10. Foreira followed up his bright batting dia play by taking five wickets for only

The Club kicked off against where the sun ought to have been had we had any evidence for the last fort- night that the sun still existed. They pressed early on and then the Services' half got off-side, and Turner found touch. Then Selby, who was working the scrum for the Club, opened up the game, and à good boat of passing saw Lammert pushed into touch on the right near the twenty-five flag. The Club con- tinued to press and there were several good passing movements; the Club forwards also showed good form, picking up in the loose and slinging the ball out. Their efforts were rewarded in the end ns More went over by the corner fing, though most of the spectators thought he had put a foot into touch. The kick failed.
