QUEEN'S THEATRE,

"NOT SO DUMH,”

In "Not So Dumb," Metro-Gold.. wyn-Mayer's new starring vehicle for Marion Davies, which opened yesterday at the Queen's Theatre, King Vidor has provided the come dienne with the most vivacious role she has played, a soarkling vehicle that affords her wide latitudo for her rara comedy.

The picture is an adaption of the well-known stage farce, "Duley," by George S. Kaufman and Mare Connelly. It is Vidor's third pio- with Miss Davies as tho atar, the previous two having been the exceptionally successful "The

FUND'S £40,000,000 A YEAR, BORROWING.

The problem of how to deal with the 400,000 people who do little work at any time but are able to satisfy the relaxed transitional conditions was mentioned at the first moeting of the Royal Commis sion on Unemployment Insurance in London.

Miss Davies demonstrates her vocal as well as physical versatility in the screen comedy, adapting her voice as well as her personally to the role of a blundering flapper who tries to run her fiance's business affairs and almost ruins her roinance as well as his bank ac-1 count.

Elliott Nugent plays opposito the star and the supporting cast in- oludos Raymond Hackett, William Holden, Julia Fayo, Sally Starr, Donald Ogden Stewart, Franklin Pangborn and George Davis.

The music is contributed by Donald Ogden Stewart, who plays "atmospheric melodies at a piano, while Fraukling Pangborn gives a dramatic reading of a new scenario ho has written för a. "gigantic film epic."
