PUBLIC NOT INTERESTED.
GILT EDGED SECURITIES FIRMER.
London,
Various
November 20-With ndvorec factora again operating and an almost complete absence of publié interest, business in stocks and shares during the past weok has been extremely quiet all round.
British gilt-edged securities, after reacting slightly, probably due to the appearance of many new capital
188es, are now on a firmer basis
again. Indian suurities remain very stondy while awaiting the re sult of the Round-Table Conference on Indian affairs which is now in progress in London. Foreign bond issures have fluctuated to a slight extent. Chinese bonds early in the werk gained strength, particularly the issues of a more speculative character, but have since reacted. Japanese accurities remain quietly stendy,
Business in all departments of the industrial section has been of negligible dimensions, artificial-silk and textile issues beng particularly dull. Oil shrees are in an unsettled condition, while rubber issues re main steady in an idle market.
