ENGLISH AND SCOTTISH LEAGUE MATCHES ON
SATURDAY.
PREMIER LEAGUE LEADERS WIN: ENGLAND BEAT WALES IN THE INTERNATIONAL,
Chelson and Sheffield Wednesday were the only visiting tenus in the First Division of the English Longãe who took full points on Saturday, the points being shared in two other case. Derby 'County were among the latter and dropped from second to fourth place, Arsenal, Blackburn and Sunderland each scored five goals against the visitors.
Everton strengthened their lead in the Second Division by a 5-0 victory over Stoke. West Brom, and Preston N.Ę. were both beaten, and Burnley, winning by an odd goal, took a higher place.
Notts County and Northampton, at the top of the Southern Section, shared the points Lincoln lost the top, place in the Northern Section to Tranmere on a better gont average.
Celtic usted Partick from the top of the Scottish League. The Rangers are close behind with a 7-1 win over Morton, Cow- denbeath beat Leith. by the same margin.
