Police Constable Craham said that he heard a woman serenning, and looking into the coll saw.n woman in flanies behind a locked door. The matron was summoned, and the woman was dragged out by the witness and Sergiant Parker, who wrapped coats round her. At the Infirmary the woman, told the

matran she had struck a match to light a cigarette, and hearing foot- steps threw it down. Next moment her clothes were in flames.

The jury returned a verdict of accidental death following barns and shock, and complimented the police on their prompt action. The REPORTS FOR BUSINESS L.Njury said there was no evidence to show where the woman obtained the cigarette.
