Revorent tribues were paid at Hong Kong's observances of Armistice Day. The oremony at the Cenotaph, arranged, on a larger scale than before, yet folowing the lines of observances in other parts of the world, proated a deep impression in the minds of thousands as to the significance of one day in the year when hearts turn in grateful remembrance of those who fell in the Great Wor.

Poppy sollers were busy at an early hour and there were few who turned away from the appeal to purchase n red emblem of Flanders Fields. His Excellency, the Governor, as the representative of HM the King, took a lending part in the ceremonies in which officers and men of the forces, officials, merchant service officers, representatives of foreign armies and avics, and men of nearly every section of the life of the Colony took part..

Following the ceremony at the Cenotaph, another tribute to the dead was paid by the laying of wreaths at the Memorial in the Botanical Gardens, erested by the Imperial War Graves Commission in memory of Chinese who died in the service of the British Govern- ment during the Great War.
