Lawrence Tibbett, who makes his debut in talking pictures in The Rogue Song," Lionel Barrymore's all-colour singing and talking drama at the Queen's Theatre, is the first American to reach supre- macy, in the field of grand opera. He is known as the world's greatest living baritone. Tibbett waa horn in Bakersfield, Cal., the son of the sheriff of Korn County.
