RICE DEALERS IN TROUBLE.

FIGHT BETWEEN RIVAL SHOPS..

A fight which occurred in Shang- hai Street on August & between jubi of two rival rice shops had its aquel at the Kowloon Magie- tracy yesterday when 13 Chinese were charged with disorderly con-

duct.

The two shops in question are the Tuck Tai Cheung, at 62, Shanghai Strett, and the Hip Choung 18 63,

Shanghai Street.

M, M. K. Lo appeared for the former, and Mr. A. Covey was for the latter. Detective Sergeant Fitches prosecuted.

Wong Suk, a ricksha coolia, said that at about 3 pm. on August & he saw two trucks containing rice The one in Reclamation Street.. belonging to the Tuck Tai Cheung tried to overtake the, one belonging to the Hip Cheung. When they drew abreast of each others, words were exchanged and a fight follow- ed. One of the fabia of the Hip Cheung was wounded by a Ero-wood chopper.

Another fight was described by Chang Kam who stated that while he was walking along Shanghai Street on the evening of August 7, he saw two rice trucks The one belonging to the Hip Cheung was in front of that shop and that of the Tuck Tai Cheung wis pass ing it. Words were exchanged and One man from a fight followed. each party was arrested.

Chan Chung, a partner of the Hip Cheung Erm, told his Worship that the cause of the fight was The probably due to jealousy. Tuck Tai Cheang was in business some months before his bra was established, and friction might have arisen by their having taken away. some of their rival's business.
