·RIOTOUS STORY OF NEW
YORK LIFE.
Most youngsters if they find themselves penniless during a vaci tion, telegraph home for money. One youth found himself in that: condition a few years ago at Atlantic City, but instead of looking for a telegraph office he went into a cabaret and asked for a job. He got it.
༄༔
It didn't pay a great deal, but. the young man had a lot of fun out of it and decided to keep on in- stead of returning to college. He went to New York, got a "similar position in a murid rabaret there, und progressed through vaudevilla, into, musical comedy, and thence to the speaking gereen.
Richard Keene, the youngster in question, played an important role in Why Leave Home" for Fox- Movietone and now appears as the wise-cracking Friend of Frank Albertson in The Big Party a riotous and tuneful story of New Tork life now showing at the Queen's Theatre.
Sue Carol, Dixie Lee and Walter Catlett have the leading roles in the picture which John Blystone direct- ed. Harlan Thompson wrote the story and dialogue.
A Beautiful Blonde, Catherine Dale Owen, who is co- featured with Warner Baxter in "Such Men Are Dangerous," Sunday's talkfe at the Queen's Theatre, adapted from Elinor Glyn's widely read magazine story, and her first offering to the, all- talking screen, is acclaimed one of the most beautiful blondes to reach the screen..
Miss Owen, until recently, was an outstanding success on the New York stage in The Whole Town's Talking "The Silent House" and "The Love Set. Her
all talking picture debut was made
with John Gilbert in "His Glorious Night." Supporting Baxter and Such Men Are Miss Owen in Dangerous" are such notables as Albert Conti, Hedda Hopper, Claude Allister and Bela Lugosi.
"Gentleman of the Press." Walter Huston, dramatic artist, vaudeville entertainer" and motion picture star, whose latest produc- tion,Gentlemen of the Press," from the tamous stage play by Ward Morse House, will show at the Central Theatre to-morrow, was popular on the vaudeville stage for years as a singer of original songs.
Huston is one of the most ver- satile of the stage-trained artists to turn to talkng moving pictures as the most satisfactory means of expressing his talent. His voice is perfect for microphone recording. In several short Paramount talking features, he sang some of his own songs. In Gentlemen of the Press, an all-talking picture, he plays a straight dramatic role.
