The Terukuni Maru, latest ad- to the Nippon. Yusen Kaisha's Europena feet, "was inspected yesterday by members of the Press and prominent local re- sidents at the invitation of the Company. She is the sister ship of the Yanikuni which will arrive in the port shortly. Both vessels were constructed by the Misubishi Shipbuilding, & Engineering Co., Etd., who built the Asama Maru and Tatsuta Maru for the Pacifc. service of the same line.

The Terukuni Maru is specially designed for the tropical conditions encountered on the Suez route; their special cooling and fresh air equipment are believed to be in- novations as far as shipping, be tween Hong Kong and Europe is concerned, and every effort has been made to provide the utmost com- fort and luxury for those travell ing on her, while the arrangement of the various public rooms is ob viously the result of a careful and lengthy study of some of the world's crack liners by prominent Japanese engineers.
