The competitors are divided be tween the Hoylake and Wallasey

W: Twine, of Bromley, heads the list with a score of 68 on the Wal- lasay course, but Diegel and Comp. ston each went round the more difficult Hoylake course in 70.
They were both better perform- sheeg than Twine's, Diegel and
Compston equalling the record for
the course.
Diegel played brilliantly and went out in 37, coming home in 33. Compston went out in 35 and cane back in the same number of strokes. A feature of his play being his enormous driving.
