**LISTEN TO THE BAND.”
TO-NIGHT'S PROGRAMME. The arrangement of entertain- Brents in the open air at this season of the year is apt to be a bit of
lottery, the uncertainty of the weather keeping everyone in sus pense till the last minute.
The postponement of the public band concert in Kaploon last Wed- nesday was inevitable on account of the sodden, condition of the ground and the grand-stands. The understanding is that, if the rain interferes on Wednesday, the con- vert is put off to the following Wednesday. Needless to say, the reservation of seats will be carried over to the next week, unless
holders wish to cancel their reser vation, in which case the money will be returned by the Anderson Music Company.

DEBUTANTES AT ANNA- POLIS IN "SALUTE "
SCENE. #
Scores of socially prominent young American girls, caught by Fox Movietone cameras in the act of bidding fond and rapturous fare- wells to Annapolis plebes and mid- shipmen embarking on their annual summer cruise, appear in Salute," which is showing at the Queen's Theatro to-day.
John Ford and a company of fity spent six weeks at the Naval Academy photographing scenes for "Salute," a dramatie story of the two famous institutions. Many of the girls bidding an au revoir to their sweethearts were unaware that cameras were trained on them, and those who were aware of the fact didn't care.
George O'Brien is shown a 40 All-American West Point half-back in this all-talking screen story, while William Janney, who plays the part of O'Brion's brother, is depicted as a substitute and on the Anna- polis gridiron squad,

One of the smartest musical comedic yet to reach the singing screen is now playing to packed houses at the Central Theatre, where Maurice Chevalier takes a bow in his new, picture called for no particularly good reason "The Love Parade." And off-hand it is difficult to think who the two others might be. The star has an appes the ladies love. And that's what sells seats for pictures.
Jeanette MacDonald possesses one of the most pleasing voices yet re- produced through a stadio micro- phone, and while it is a bit pre- mature to prophesy regarding her screen future she creates a favour-
