The proposed plan comprises TC- striction of output on plantations and native production by 10 per 6 cent. to 20 per cent. by means of reduction in tapping. This restric- tion is to be enforced by the crea tion of a pool, in which each plantation producer will pay Gida.20 per ton and each native grower c. per kilogramme pro- duced. According to the plan, the Dutch"Die Nacht" (Schbert) and “Der Indies will be divided into ten areas-namely, five European and five native, the latter to be controll- ed by natives, presided over by European official. The Government will be custodian of the pooled money.
Professor Treub, ex-Minister of Finanes and chairman of the Pro- prietors Asociation for the Dutch Indies, appears to be the instigator of the plan. It was stated at the meeting that Mr. Futch, Minister for the Colonies, was on principle" quite prepared to support the schemo.
4.
A second meeting will be held at The Hague between the Dutch Rub- ber Committee, the Committee of the Proprietors' Association for tho Dutch Indies and representatives of British Rubber Growers' Associa tion to discuss co-operation and the sending of a delegate to India to elaborate details of the plan.
It seems these decisions that the pooling plans adopted on October Se last have been abandoned. Whe ther the Dutch growrs will fall into line with the British selling scheme is open to doubt. They will try to find a solution of the crisis by way of an actual regulation for restric tion of output.

Surprise for a Broker.
Now comes the alleged sequel. The police are extremely reti- cont, but inquiries made by a Straits Times representative show that on the day after the Van der Parra leit Singapore, Mr. M. Adam Saiboo, a wealthy Indian merchant" and exchange broker, of 14, Market Street, returned to his residence, 6. Rose Lane, off Tanjong Katong Road, to find a parcel waiting for. him.
A man, also an Indian Mohame- dan, who gave his name as Abdulla brought the parcel, and told Mr. Adam Saiboo that it contained Dutch guilders which he wished to exchange.

Money Handed to Police Abdulla failed to appear and Mr. Adam Saiboo decided to com- municate with the police. He took the parcel and handed it to the police, who opened it and found. that it contained 20,000 Dutch guilders in currency notes.
Every effort to find the mysteriT.16) cus Abdulla has been made, but he seems to have disappeared in the same incomprehensible manner" as he appeared. Meanwhile the 20,000 guilders remain in the custody of the police.
