WISDOM STAG CONTINUES TO IMPRESS: KING'S BOUNTY'S FAST FINISH.
MORE ABOUT THE DERBY GRIFFINS.
[BY MORNING DEW."]
Wisdom Stag, one of the outstanding ponies training for the Derby, again impressed rail fans over the week-end by his "excellent gallop. The pony finished the last half mile of his gallop fresh and strong, taking 1 minute 6 seconds over the journey.
King's Bounty, another well-fancied candidate was given slow work over the full Derby distance, the pony finishing convincingly in 913 acconds over the last quarter of a mile.
Silver Queen is shaping very well at the moment, and another. good pony to watch is Orlando, who is very fit and might upset 'calculations.
The "Jardine" string galloped yesterday as did Mr. Ho Kom Tong's string. Abel was particularly impressive and may be worth studying. He was full of at the finish.
Majestic Hall's excellent gallop on Sunday shows him to be one of the best of the old ponies. He is a sure starter for the Champions and on his running on Saturday many will say that he is a much better animal than President Hall.
I am making no comments on the performances of the subscrip tion griffins as I shall give a fult account very soon of their pros pects and chances at the forthcoming race« meeting.
The times taken over the week-end in the sand course are as follows:
