The jury found there had been misconduct by the wife, but no cruelty by Commander Gibbons, as was alleged in a cross-petition.

The bodies were discovered in the pond at a place where it is 4ft. deep. There is a decided curve in the road near the spot, and it is surmised that the men were thrown off their machine, being rendered unconscious before they fell into the water. The spot is known as Jessop's Pond; in Dawley-road, which is a continuation of High street, Harlington, and helps to link up the Bath-road with the Ux. bridge-road through Rayes.

The pond is 130 yards long and 20 yards wide, and is crossed by narrow bridge. It is believed that the bodies had been in the water three or four days, and the mishap which cost them their lives was probably due to the fogs which

Which were speaking the truth, the men who gave this evidence or Mra. Gibbons, Mr. Bell and their

Mr. Justice Hill then described the postcard system of the paid watchers. The system, he said, show-- ed that the men had been on the spot, and if the evidence was faked it must have been done with con- siderable ingenuity.

One card stated that Mrs. Gibbons had not left Mr. Bell's house at midnight.
