METAL.
Messrs, Pentreath & Co. have forwarded us the following letter dated December 3 from Messrs. Hornby Hemelryk & Co., Liverpool. Copper.
Standard values have declined considerably during the week ander review up to yesterday when wo saw quite a strong market on short dates had good speculative buying covering of January and February of three months. An interesting fnature has been the buying by firms with American interests.
Copper is being shipped every week from this country to America for refining purposes, and this policy is likely to be continued.
The Copper Exporters Inc. state definitely that they will not reduce the price of Electro, and as long as they maintain this attitude, the position of the Standard market may become critical,
We should not like to be short of Copper as a serious squeeze may vet set in during the next three months.
