APOLLO TO RACE IN HONG KONG AT ANNUAL MEETING.
PONY WITH WONDERFUL RECORD.
Br MORNING DEW."]
I heard some days ago that Apollo, the Shanghai eracker-jack, was being brought down here for our Annual Race-meeting, but not until actually saw the animal in the flesh did I believe the news. I
have seer Apollo and have read his record, and I must s that the pony has a wonderful list of perfor- ndices to his name, and bids fair to win the Chnggiions. He will be up against are very good animals, but before discussing his chances I think it would be better to acquaint readers with Apollo's record,

Apollo over a mile. But I must not speculate at this early date, and will content myself by watching the progress of the animals during the training season..
Ilya Mouromliz.”- There is one other pony in our maist to whom some recognition it due. This is llyn Mouromitz, also from Shanghai, and very ht at the moment. He has been in Hong for some mouths, and might spring surprise when the races come to be run. I understand he is being carefully nursed," and readers can take it from me that he is nable hands and will do very well.

More Grimas,
The Hynes and Mackie stable, 1 understand, are importing three griffins. There is no chance of the public seeing Peterkin, last year's hopeful who would not run, in ac tion, as there is a report that the pony has developed further trouble in the North. However, racing enthusiasts can rely on this stable importing "the goods," and their. three representatives will figure prominently in the training times next month.

Frankly, Apollo's record is that of a champion all the way, but no one with any knowledge of racing would say that he is a moral ces tainty for the big event of the Annual Meeting.
