Four Chinese who had been charged at Central Magistracy! with participation in the armed robbery at 102 Wellington Street, on December 6, when a pork dealer was robbed of money and jewellery worth $303, had the charge amend-] ed to one of possession of four re- volvers when they were brought 'be-] fore Mr. W. Hamilton and Ma- jor C. Willson who sat together.

The police officer in charge of the case stated that the stolen, pro- perty had been recovered, but as no evidence of identification by the] victim could be obtained, the charge) of robbery would be withdrawn. The defendants were arrested in two different places and the loaded revolvers were found concealed in Bridges Street.

After hearing evidence, the de- fendants were found guilty and sentenced to four years' hard labour each.

MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE.

Pi Shih Hsu, a Shantung Police Sergeant, was charged before Mr. A.W.G.H. Grantham with the maaslaughter of Lo Chak, a mar- ried woman. It was alleged that the 'defendant struck her a blow which esulted in the woman's death in hospital.
