CLUB DEFEAT H.M.S. CORNWALL

As a reply to the Cornwall's vic- tory over the Club First "IV" last week, the Club "A" managed to beat a second team from the same ship yesterday evening at Happy Valley by a margin of five points, one goal and one try gainst one try from their oppon- ents.

The situation was complicated by the fact that the clock inside the Pavilion was seven minutes fast! Well after 5.45 p.m. true time, the Navy skipper thought time was up. The umpire provided by the Navy side suggested that it was time, but Robinson, the K.C.C.

The Beal Trouble. The real trouble is that Rule 16 is sheer adjectival nonsense, and if we now have a five longue (as I think we have) it will be amended. In tho Interport it was settled that Bp. should be the tinie for draw ing stumps. This was in the first haf of November, and even so it seemed at times too late. I will grant that the League can play later, but maintain that 5.45 p.m. in November and January is the absolute limit, and 5.30 p.m. in December.

The C.R.C. entertain Kowloon, and the odds are largely on the visitors. I do not think the Chinese can win, as the Kewloon batting is so strong but they may well draw the game if they can keep down the rate of scoring
