WINNERS.

[BY MORNING DEW."]

If the attendance could be taken as a criterion, then the Sixth- Extra Race Meeting was perhaps the pet successful held this year, for the Jockey Club's compound at Happy Valley was througed with people yesterday afternoon. The attendance must have been a record for un extra museting.

The main event of the day was the fourth Aggregate Stakes which drew a field of four, including Chesapeake Bay and Christ- mas Chimies. After a thrilling race the former won by four lengths, The winner was ridden by Mr. Harriman, who showed how well he understood his mount by patiently waiting at the back of the field until the right moment.

Mr. Harriman was the most auc- venedi jockey, obtaining there wins and two seconds in seven cutings.

Meanwhile. City Hall shook off Mount Elburg and swung wide into the straight, losing many valuable lengths. Glory slipped through on the rails and ter a short space enjoyed the lead, but the ex-Derby winner was not to be denied and came on again in the last few yards and woo.

Mount Elburz hung On well enough to retain third place being three lengths ahead of San Fran

Triumphant Stag and Hiawatha also began to make good the gap and at the distance post were level with Fifty Fifty, Rose Hall having dropped back meanwhile.

Mr. Soares mount responded gamely when asked at the last fifty yards of the race, and won hand- omely. Fifty Fifty was second and Triumphant Stag held out Rose Hall to get third place.

season.

As was expected Kowloon F.C. accounted for St. Joseph's College, and the latter team together with Club de Recreio has still to obtain their first point. The Navy, after going down to the Somerset L.I. by five goals the previous week, was not expected to get full points at the expenas of Club de Recreio, and after the latter's defeat on Satur day, there will be many who will predict for them the "wooden position. In doing so spoonista " their critics are perhaps a bit harsh and, in any case, the first two or three games of a season indicate very little. The newcomers to the first league St. Joseph's College.are more than likely to prevent the Club de Recreio from occupying the league leadership from the wrong

end.

The personal victory of S. EI. Weng in throwing the water-pelo hall will be a source of great satia- fretion to the Chinese swimming community. Their pet water-polü team finished fourth out of ten tearns in the league, and the result was not very satisfactory," but Wong's easy win in an event in some way connected with water-polo, to some extent redeems the disappoint-... ments of the Chinese team's sup- porters. I was surprised to see some very strong "throwers out of the event.
