This machine can either be fitted with a Cirrus Mark III., 93-95 H. P. or a Hermes 115 H. P. engine, both of which are of the air-cooled four erlinder-in-line type, and are made by the well-known company, Citrus Aero Eagines, Limited. The West- land limousine carries five passeng ers and goods at a speed of 120 m.p.h. Mr. Temple Martin, prosecuting, said that the couple attempted a type of burglary which was all too common in the suburbs. The prac tice was to knock repeatedly at the door of a house and, receiving no reply, to smash in glass panel conveniently near the catch of the door.
Crash of Glass.
In this instance the occupants
were at home, and Mrs. Julle Lord saw the couple enter the gates end heard a knock at the door. She went to a bedroom window at the back of the house to call her husband from the garden and heard the crash of glass. She then saw a man in one of the bedrooms and called her husband. Mr. Lord chas ed the man, who got away, and Mrs. Lord and her son went after who was stopped, the woman, Thompson then denied that she was with the man, and when charged she said, "I did not enter the place."

"Truth" was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, July
28.
The Golden Text wis: "Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thon hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. Bactify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17: 11, 17).
It appears that a party of sever Chinese, including Fan Yang Sang and Hoh Tong Fatt, présented a certain actress who was performing in a Chinese theatre in the village with a piece of silk and the actress Bent in return two bottles of brandy.
The party was toasting the health of the actress with brandy outside of the theatro premises when a quar- rel arose between the two persons mentioned over the actress. Later.. Hoh Tong Fatt is alleged to have stabbed the other man and disap peared. The victim, who is in a serious condition, is in Kuala Lumpur hospital while the alleged assailant is being marched for by the police.-Straits Times.
