seaman on
board the City of Singapore was before Comdr. J. B. Newill, D.S.O., R.N., for wilful disobedience of sn order to oil certain parts of the ship's engine given by Mr. C. Wile-" man, the 3rd engineer while on the high seas.
Defendant pleaded not guilty, Mr. Wileman said that the vessel was proceeding to Mania when the incident referred to took place. After bearing what defendant had to say the Magistrate passed aén tence two weeks' hard labour.

In the witness box the müter said that when he ordered defendant back to his berth he created a dis turbance.
Sentence of two weeks' hard labour was passed.
An old fellow of 66 was summoned for making fast his craft to the 5.3. Wisconsin while she was still under way.
He had no previous conviction of any nature against him and in reminrking what a splendid record that was, His Worship imposed a small fine of $5.
