Sanatogen infuses into the cells of blood and nerves exactly those elements-phos phorus and albumin-from which bodily health and nerve strength are derived. In the Medical Echo of Jan. 1925, a physician describes how be tested Sanatogen on 3 medical students:

"In a fortnight their physical and mental mergy increased by an average of 23%. Some of their comments on Sanatogen were amusing, much as: A real fag-killerima brain-jogger mandem a voal gray-matter sonic.”

eroment

Next to temperance reform, education is the most important question, now exercising the minds of the Ulster people, and on both, the Government's policy has arous- ed considerable feeling. In regard to education, a United Committee, composed of representatives of the Protestant Churches and the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland have told the Government that the working of the new educational system is likely to undermine Protestantism in Northern Ireland. In view of the fact that the Roman Catholic Church is pot transferring any schools to the Education Authori ties, the Committee have demand. ed an amendment of. the Educa- tion Act so as to prevent schools bullt for and attended by Protest- ant children coming under Roman Catholic management, and also to prevent teachers for Protestant children being appointed by com mittees composed in whole or in part of Roman Catholics.

The Government have not yet made any replies to the demands of the Churches and the Orange Order, but there is a feeling that some amendment of the education system will be promised in order to satisfy a very considerable pro- portion of their supporters.

Danger to the North..

The temperance question presents an even greater threat of danger to the Northern Government. Az aggressive Lecal Option Party bas sprung up in Ulster in recent years, and is determined to make this an issue in the forthcoming elections. A meature of Local Option, they say, must be passed by the next Parliament, and this to be made a stepping stone to prohibition.

There is a strong division of opnion, even in the Churches, as to the advisibility of pressing for Local Option at the present time. and the Prime Minister some time

ago declared that as the present licensing system is working satis factorily, no further temperance measures will he introduced long as he is Prime Minister.

The Local Option Party-most of whom are, in politics, supporters of Lord Craigavon have selected a number of candidates to oppose members of the Government, in- cluding the Prime Minister him- self; but the announcement of their comes has been held over in order to keep the door open for the con sideration of any reasonable alter- antive to Leca: Option.

The House of Commons recently passed a Bili abolishing Propor tional Representation and dividing. the Northern area into single-mem- ber constituencies. This measure was bitterly opposed by the Op- position-compened of Nationalists (who want one Parliament for the whole of Ireland), Socialists and Independents-all" of, whom fear that they may lose a few reats.

Proportional representation; it is held by the Government Party, bas | proved cumbersome and unsatisfac- tory and a return to the old system of direct voting is favoured by the majority of the electors, As the House is at present constituted the loss of seved seats by the Union- ists would mean a change of Gov- ernment, and should the Local Optioniste orrore the Craigavon Party there in the possibility of the Nationalists or Socialists profiting by the split Unionists vote.

about.

#

Tf this should happen the next administration would most likely be headed by Joseph Devlin, the Nationalist leader, who was for many years a prominent member of the old Irish Nationalist party at. Westminster. Devlin's party is. however, in favour of one Parlin ment for the whole of Ireland. To this the Unionist majority is bit- terly opposed, and it is fairly safe. to assume notwithstanding the im possibility of forecasting how the newly enfranchised young women of 21 and over will vote that the domestic differences which divide the Unionists will be settled, tem- porizily, at any rate, and that Lardly Craigavon and his present Govern ment will be returned to power.
