The Hon. Mr. W. T. Southorn, C.M:G. (Colonial Secretary), per- formed the opening ceremony by partnering Mr. Ho Kom Torg in a Snooker Match.
Mr. Southor said the Secretary and Committee of the Club had honoured him with the privilege of taking part in the first game. Not knowing the ability of Mr. Ho Kom Tong at billiards and knowing that he himself would take an hour and
a
half to make a 100, the speaker sug- gested a game of snooker. (Laugh- ter.) He concluded by remarking that he could only say that the Club was very thankful indeed to Mr. Ho Kom-Tong for presenting the table. (Apphuse.)
The game resulted in a win for Mr. Southors and his partner.
