It is really, I think, a woven material rather than straw. aa it is very soft and pliable, bat it has a resilence which keeps the hat in shape. The hats are simple in line with a fairly wide brim which is not turned up at the back, the iden being to give full protec tion from the sun. A small amount of wool is woren in with the mate- rial which also serves to protect the wearer against sunstroke. This new material is woven in pastel shades which have a pretty silver abeen. The hats are trimmed with a simple band of toning ribbon.
