All the aircraft are equipped with Marconi wireless apparatus of the latest type, and an inter-commani- cating chain of ground stations has been arranged.

The first section of the route is, the London-Bale flight, on which the present wireless organisation for continental aviation will be em ployed. This consists of the power- ful Marconi aerodrome station at Croydon, French stations at Bourget and other intermediate places on the route, and the Marecni sets of 150 watts power, of the well known Type AD6, adapted for communication over distances of 200 to 300 miles either by tele phony or telegraphy.

Fight Train to Genova. From Busle the night train to Genoa makes the connection with the second section of the hit route, From Genon to Alexandria, which is to be operated by threeCal catta" flying boate fitted with the more powerful Marconi Type AD8 sets. These sets are also adaptable for telegraphy or telephony, en- abling the pilots to keep in touch with Italian and British Air Ministry wireless stations until arrival at Alexandria. In addition, Imperial Airways, who are cou ducting the London-Karachi ser vice, have stationed a depot ship at a point in the Greek Archipe lago..

This has been fitted with a Marconi valve transmitter of kilowatt power (Type U) and suit alle receiving equipment (Marconi Type RG19 Receiver), and will be capable of communicating with Malta, Alexandria (Aboukir), and other stations concerned with the service.

The England to India weekly service of, Emperial Airways for mails and passengers will complete" the journey to Karachi in seven days and a few hours, as compared with the 10 days which, with the fastest combination of boat and train, it takes by the ordinary route. The total length of the air line is 3,000 miles, and it has been divided into sections as follows:

andria.

Near East.-Alexandria to Basrah and Karachi.

The sit Liner leaves Croydon Every Saturday morning, arriving a Karachi on the following Satur day. The inward service starts from Karachi every Sunday morn ing, arriving in London on the following Sunday. As it has not been possible, owing to political de lays, to complete arrangements for hate! accommodation to coincide with the start of the service, passen gers will not be carried for the Grst few fights over the entire journey The fare from London to Karachi is £130, including hotel ac- commodation and meals. To Bagh dad the fare is £90, and to Egypt £38.
