St. George's Day was celebrated yesterday irith more formality. than has been customary in Hong Kong. The ceremony of" laying a wreath on the Cenotaph was well attended at 11 a.m. and "The Retreat" played by the band of the Somerset Light Infantry... attracted a large crowd to the Cricket Club ground at 3.30 pm.

At 7 p.m. the President broadcast an address to Englishmen, also the telegrams received from branches of the Society in other parts of the world,

At B p.m. a mass successful smoking concert was held for Servicemea in Lee Theatre, East Point.
