Considering the weather was a little on the bot side a very happy band of racegoers were presens to witness the concluding meeting, of the FanlingHunt steeplechases which were conducted at Ewangti racecourse yesterday afternoon.
Considering the scarcity of entries the racing was extremely good and an abundance of thrills tended to make the meeting one of the most exciting during the season.
The Fanling Steeplechase Cham. pious which was the principal race on the card, was easily accounted the card, was easily accounted for for by Mr. Ulster's Ace of Spades in fortless fashion atter making his own running for the whole part of the journey. Mr. Ulster, who was the only owner to annexe a double succeeded in also winning the April Handicap with his emination,
Erin's Isle.
Mr. R. H. Charles was the most successful rider, winning three races and securing one second out of four
starts.
Mr. N. Hashim My Lady was beaten for the first time out of Sve start After the race it was ascertained that she had twisted a shop during the race, which evident- ly was the cause of her defeat.

Ace of Spades is undoubtedly one of the most improved ponies at our country meetings, and was respon- sible for a wonderful effort in yes- terday's meeting, for he got a tre- mendous break cr the field which increased at every jump, till be finally crossed the water jump in a canter and was pulled up by his rider, who allowed him to walk leisurely past the winning post just as the second pony was taking the last jump.
It was rather a disappointment that there were not more than three starters as Mr. Ulster, his owner, certainly did not get much chance of avenging the which the lightly weighed As You Like It had administered at the previous meeting.

Fire Call, thanks to the judicious manner in which he was ridden by Mr. Bulteel, succeeded in being placed in the last race. His second was an excellent effort of his rider, who kept him well placell through out the whole of the race, to be beaten on the post.

GENEVA, April 19.1 The conference which has been discussing the question of the sup pression of counterfeit currency has concluded its labours. A draft convention has been adopted.
The Indian and the Chinese de- legates agreed to the draft conven- tion with reservations as regards the question of extradition.
Twenty-three countries, including Russia and India have so far
signed the convention's protocol for the suppression of counterfeit ing.

A resolution was adopted at a meeting of the British Trade Dele- gation and handed to M. Piatekoff, stating that economic developments are impossible without the resump- tion of diplomatic relations and that it is equally impossible for Russia to obtain extensive British Enancial aid until satisfaction is promised to British nationals' claims.
M. Piattokoff, replying, described the visit as a friendly gesture, and expressed his readiness, when diplomatic relations were re-estab lished, to negotiate questions of utual interest on the basis of the
agreement of 1924.
