HONG KONG RACES.
RACING A TRIBUTE TO HANDICAPPERS' SKILL.
N. HASHIM'S SUNNING CAUSES UPSET.
[BY EARLY BIRD.}
A glance at the results of Saturday's Third Extra Meeting of the Hong Kong Jockey Club will convince interested rice-goers of the quality of the sport provided at the last meeting. Fast and interesting ñaishes were made possible by the judicious manner in which the handicap events were attended to by Mr.. C, M. S. "Alves and Mr. A. W. Moon, the Official Handicappers.
Messrs. Heard, Wong and Harriman were the successful jockeys, each securing three firsts, the placings being responsible for the order in which they appear,
Christmas Chimes; a' contender from the stable of Mesars. Lau and Lee, convincingly proved that he is the star peformer at the moment by winning the Aggregate Stakes which was the main race of the meeting.
The introduction of an "A" and "B" Class for subscription griffins was a happy though on behalf of the compilation.com- mittec, and I have no doubt the system will be adhered to at fature meetings.
THE RACES DESCRIBED.
April Stakes.
Sunshine was the public choice and gave his Eackers a sight for the first part of the journey. Passing the half mile post. Sunshine was Atill in command, with 'Bronze Idal giving away to Szatmar and False Alarm.

THE HONG KONG DAILY PRESS, MONDAY, APRIL 15, 1929.
At the distance post the race was won, for Christmas Chimes was sailing merrily along in the lead while Wong, who had persevered in his effort of straightening Chesa. peake Bay up, was riding hard in second place, with Winsome Stag shuffling along in third place.

Szatmar who was very unruly at the start almost succeeded in kick ing Mr. Wong off his mount, besides putting his heels into several other ponies which included Sunshins.
Grand Tattoo Eve, a grin of this year, was selected by the know ing once as a certainty and was quickly installed favourite. But
like feeding him to the Fanling hounds as he was badly beaten.
Town Hall was the winner on Saturday the principal factor being the excellent riding of Mr. Wong.
King's Falloch, could do no better than secure second place in spite of the torrific effort made by his rider Mr. Bulteel.
Fifty Fifty who secured a fair measure of support from backers is a good pony. Until the Handicap pers decide to treat him more leniently I have no doubt he will continue amongst the "also rans,"
