MARINE COURT CASES.
A SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD HAWKER PINED.
At the Marine Court yesterday, a seventeen year old boy was fined 810 or ten days' imprisonment by Comdr. G. F. Hole, R.N. for hawking without a license.
The lad pleaded not guilty and said that at the time of his arrest he was on his way to deliver ship's rattan fenders. His master gave evidence to the effect that the goods had been ordered by the master of a shampan and his foki had instrue tions to take them to a certain He could not explain sampan what the ad was doing with them, as the witness for the police stated that when he saw accused, he was making a sale to another boatman. The magistrate remarked that he could not believe the master's story and accordingly imposed the fine as above.
