A report from the Children's Playgrounds Sub-Committee read and after discussion it was decided that the lack of adequate supervision at the Chatham Road Playground be again brought to the notice of the Government.

It was further decided to request Government to provide facilities for the use of the vacant piece of ground between Saigon Street and Jordan Road as a playground for the children in that congested area.

Over ten thousand bundles of Bugar cane were exported to Shang- hai during last week. The climate of southern China is exceedingly suitable for the cultivation of augar-cane, and the crop is plenti- felly grown in country districts, especially Tungkun and Chingyuen, Nanyang Bros Tob.
