A large crowd turned out to wit ness the local "Derby" between the above teams on the Hong Kong F.C. ground. The rain of the pre- vious day made the going heavy, while the ball was very greasy which prevented good control. The

These team met on the Chatham Road ground, the Navy winning by the narrow margin of three goals The Navy took the lead to two. early through Gray but the S.L.I. drew level through Early. A ding dong struggle for the lead ensued and Sorbie got through for "the Navy before the interval.

DOUBLE DEFEATS FOR MANY ENGLISH TEAMS.
GRIMSBY LEAD" IN DIVISION II.
Thirty-three, matches were played in the English League on Good Friday, home teams securing 2 victories, away teams, drawn ; total goals scored: home 73, away 35. Saturday's pro- gramme of 44 matches gave the home teams 26 victories, visitors 10, and 9 were drawn; total goals scored: home 100, away 58.
Middlesbrough, leaders in the Second Division, were only en- gaged on the second day, and they were beaton. Sunderland, who are close behind the Division 1. leaders, had three matches during. the week, but gained only one point. Aston Villa improved on their mid-week success, one of their victims being Blackburn, who were beaten on both days. Among those who gained "doubles" were the Arsenal Manchester City and Portsmouth.
Grimsby's double success by an odd goal on each day pinces them at the head of the Second Division, Blackpool, West Brom- wich and Barnsley were successful on both days.. Chelsea, lost both their matches, while Tottenham saved a point in each case,
In Division III. (Southern Section), Crystal Palace gained two valuable points which brings them on the same footing with the leaders and they have the advantage of two matches.. Chariton; Watford, Brighton and Newport each added four points during the work.

Stockport still lead in the Northern Section by their success on Saturday after losing a point the previous day. Teams taking full points on the two days were Doncaster, Lincoln, South Shields and Chesterfield.

In the Scottish League matches on Saturday, the Rangers, after their first defeat of the season during the week, had to share the points at home with Clyde, this being their fourth draw. Two other teams also drew, while the remaining seven matches went to those playing on home grounds.

down Arsenal heavily to the Athletic on the Bury The Athletic again got off smart-HE.F.C. ground. The Athletic Liverpool ly but Pau stopped shots from scored seven times in the second Suca and Wong Pak Chong. Keep-balf and won by ten goals to mil. ing up the pressure, the Athletic scored through Wong Pak Chong. With this success, the Athletic went out to level up but met with a sound defence. South Chinh then took up the running and Fung meeting a well placed centre by Ip Pak Wah made the game safe for South China. A final rally by the Athletic ended in. Sin Pai Kong beating Pau. The final whistle sounded with South Chinese win ning by the odd goal in five.

MAN FOUND DEAD WITH HIS ARMS TIED.
Two men were found drowned in mysterious circumstances in the Biyer Frome at Black Rocks, Stapleton, and in the River Avon, at Chadhury Weir, near Evesham. In the first case there are suspi cions of foul play. George Webby Aged twenty-one, of Bristol, was taken from the river with his hands and arms tied close to his body. He had been missing since Decem- ber, 31. A clairvoyant is said to have described the precise · spot where his body was found.
The second case was that of Walter Rose, who, after leaving his fancée's home at Evesham on De- cember 28 to fetch the cake for their wedding the following day, disappeared. Miss Annie Norton stated at the inquest that on the eve of the wedding he burst into tears, saying, “The things have done it. They will repent. some day."
