The master of a passenger boat was charged with making fast to the m.s. Australien whilst under- way. The defendant pleaded not guilty and said that he used a bain- boo pole with an iron hook at the end to push his boat away from the steamer; but the hook caught on to the side of the ship and his host was drugged along. Police evidence was that the defendant's boat was actually made fast to the steamer
