LEMON REMEDIES.
When you have a cold a glass of hot lemon with honey is one of the best things you can take. If your throat is sore lemon juice and
sugar, used as gargle, will do much to relieve it. If any one is feverish lemon juice used to moisten the lips and to cleanse the tongue will give the patient much more comfort.
If you have bilious headache make a hot cup of coffee and put a spoonful of lemon juice in it." This will soon banish the headache.
If you should cut yourself badly. and cannot stop the bleeding dip a clean piece of rag into lemon juice, and tie it lightly on to the damaged part.

OUR ELDERS ARE TOO SENTIMENTAL.
If sentimentality offende some sense of mental decency in you which the expression of strong emo tion does not, you are young at "heart. If it is the other way about, then, spiritually, you are old whatever your actual age may be you belong to the past.
A Bad Lack Of Understanding. - Better than any formal division, that test divided my generation, the war and post-war people, from the generation before us; and it seems such a pity that those whose minds were set before the great upheaval can rarely be made to realise this, since it accounts for a good deal of the present unfortunate antagonism and mutual eriticism between the old and the young,

A Convenient Escape From Real Emotion.
The same rule holds with books and plays Hall the world regards sentimentality as a .convenient escape from real emotion, which
makes it feel uncomfortable; while to the other half it is revolting, profaning something fine and honest by inferring that the unvarnished truth is in itself unpleasant.
Trespassing On Holy Ground. They, the old of any age, believe that we hold nothing sacred because we joke broadly on subjects which they never handle except in a wrap ping of mental cotton wool; but they trespass with mercilessly senti- With a few exceptions on both mental feet on our holy grounds, sides, the two sets sort themselves which do not appear private to out according to age; and the gulf them. CLIPPINGS FROM THE
SEWING ROOM.
When a needle falls upon the carpet there is often so much dif ficulty in finding it that one is tempted to leave it. This is dangerous thing to do. If an or dinary magnet attached to a string. is included in the sewing outfit, it is a simple matter to run it over the carpet the needle will at once- fly to the magnet.
RAFFIA CROWN.
The crown of this pale beige "felt hat is made of close stranda of raffia in ó warm cinnamon colour.
.Fine needles may be threaded with ease if the cotton is first drawn across & candle; this stiffens the end of the cotton without making it` any thicker.
If a rusty needle is placed be- tween the strikers of two boxes of safety matches and rubbed briskly it will, become perfectly clean in
a second.
Beissors have an exasperating habit of disppearing from view when sewing is strewn about the table; to avoid loss of time and temper an excellent plan is to tie a tiny bell on to the handle, using. a bright ribbon for the purpose.
