A NEW BRITISH DELIVERY VAN.
Singer & Co. Ltd., of Coventry have just placed upon the market a very neat little delivery van to carry a load of 6 cwt. The chassis is the same as that psed on all Singer Junior cars, having an over head camshaft engine,, four-wheel brakes, etc. The rear springs are specially strengthened, however, and are equipped with shock ab sorbers. One of the most important points is that the van weighs less than 12 owt.. and thus is taxed at £10 per year only.
The body is coach-built, through out, and is fitted with a sliding communication doar at the back of the driver's seat. Single or double
The presentation was made at Simon's Town by Engineer Lieut.. Commander Abrahams, who is now the representative in South Africa' for John I. Thornycroft & Co., Ltd.

The ideal we have kept before us in the design of this car is not to sacrifice one atom of silence or Bexibility to speed," said Mr. Bent- ler, as we emerged from the factory gates at about two miles an hour on top gear, and accelerated away like an electric train.
The object of the designer has most certainly been achieved as this big Bentley must easily be the fastest ellent car in the world. There may be faster cars, but up till now there has never been a vehicle capable of a speed but little short of 100 miles an hour, and The boat is an open launch 18 ft. which can cover the ground so in length by 5 ft. 0 in. in breadth, effortlessly and so silently. I have equipped with a Thornycroft driven most of the luxurious fast bh.p. Handybilly" engine which gives it a speed of approximately 5 knots.
