THE SEASON'S BEST JUMPERS ENGAGED.
[BY EARLY BIRD.]
Everything is in readiness for the Christmas meeting of the Farling Hunt which will be decided at Kwanti Racecourse, this alternoon the first race commencing at 3 p.m. sharp.
A bumber of improvements have
been made since the inat meeting
the
including ад alteration to water jump which will hold a largër quantity of water than before. the course proper is in very good condition although the grass has died off to A certain extent on
account of the scarcity of rain.
The fact that balf the entries are maidens should cause a certain amount of uncertainty amongst backers
Christmas Maidens,
Quite a number of good class ponies will we making their debut in this race. The best of these ure owned by officers of different regi ments who have been encamped adjacent to the Kwanti racecourse and every opportunity has been given the ponies to ges themselves used to the course, you Like It. Also Ban Stakes. Burderer who ran away with the first event at the last meeting should be fresh for this race owing to the conditions and stands a very good chance of repeating his performance and carry on his good. work of continuing to pile up wins. He will be ridden by Mr. Clark who is a stout cross country rider who will give him one hundred per cent. service. Sheila should also be the better on account of not having been started before and it Sie Hundred lifts himself up a bit at bia hurdes ander the gentle per- suasion of Dr. Reidy, who knowa but what he won't spring a big surprise in the last race. Grey Eyes or Durham may possibly start again especially if the first named does not complete the course the first time out in which case they may be better suited by the shorter distance. Should fee of Sides or James Pigy meet with any bad joas in their earlier" en gagements and started in this event either one of them should win.
In conclusion I have every con fidence we are in for a rattling good afternoon's sport and don't fail to look your fancied candidate over in the paddock before making your bets,

United Services Raco,
As far as the heavyweight mile is concerned Dumbell is well suited by this company and distance. He won his race at the last meeting and was good enough to run second to James Pigg, carrying seven pounds overweight. If his owner decides to start him at the correct weight this afternoon he is a cinch, Funes Pigg who has been strenu pre-ously trained for today's event by

Ladies Plate. Though the field is a remarkably good one there is every prospecti of this afternoon's Ladies' Plate mile and a half event developing into a match between Aerof Spades and Mowgli. As they will both be carrying weight for inches it will be interesting to watch the result. Still the appearance of such 1999 1929 good hurdlers as Caviare, Little 81,416 81,373 River, Siang River and Solitaire 1,415 1,383 should lend interest to the race, Canton.
