noon,

The intended husband was then called into court, and verified the fact that the marriage was fixed for 2.30 that afternoon.

Three Months' Bomand. Mr. Bingley, the magistrate, de- cided to remand Miss S for three months on bail, and accepted her intended husband's surety in E for her appearance at the rad of that period.

The assistant registrar was ready te.conduct the marriage ceremony in the afternoon at 9:30 p., but the bride and bridegroom did get manage to reach the register office until a few minutes before three. The ceremony was hurried through and completed just in time, Mor riages in England, of course, can not be celebrated after 3.p.m.

"I wish I had never come into his life!"

These tragic words were spoken by the bride as soon as she reached Home after the wedding.

The woman is tall, slender, and beautiful. She has finely chiselled features and large grey eyes. She sobbed bitterly as she leaned heavi- ly on the arm of her husband, and every now And then she cried,

What a terrible day!!!

The bridegroom is a manly young fellow, and although his eyes were almost blinded by the tears which fell freely he said he would not alter things for the world's riches.

"She is my wife," he said par sionately to a reporter who saw the young couple. He slipped his arma tenderly round his bride's waist, And, smiling bravely, said, "Per- baps, after all, it is for the best- This terrible ordeal we have pass- ed through it is like some hideous nightmare is over and now look forward to a bright, happy life together. I hope people will not make it hard for us to live it dawn."
