With fifteen arrivals and fourteen departures during the 24 hours end-City of Bedford, January 6th.

City of Pekin, January 19th. ed at 9 a.. yesterday the generality of Baroda, February 1st. cargo returns for Hong Kong and ports beyond the Colony showed no increase. Local imports were very good while through freights were above the average. Sevon British arrivals and departures were shown and British contributions to the freigh: returns were good.

Local imports from fourteen vessels amounted to 12,563 tons. Six British ships discharged 8,631 tons and the best return was shown by the s.8. Tyndareus (British) with 6,806 tons from Tacoma (Washing. top) and Kobe. The aa Caravellas (French) also discharged 2,946 tons. Through freights showed a total of 9,499, lons, and of the six carriers four were British carrying a total of 3,032 tons. The ss. detuta Jaru (Japanese) arriving from Middles horough and Singapore carried 6.417 tons of cargo while the sus Antenas (British) from Dalny and Shanghai carried 1,692 tons.

Tang Ah. Yung, master of a fish- ing boat was before" Commander J. B Newill, D.S.Q., R.N., at the Harbour Office yesterday morning for failing to take out a license for his boat. The defendant plead- ed guilty and said that he had just bought the boat from Aberdeen, and was trying to raise the money for the License, which he intended to take out the very day that he was arrested. A fine of 80 with the alternative of 6 days' hard labour was imposed,
