WELCH REGIMENT. CLUB.
NARROW WIN FOR VISITORS,
Conditions yesterday evening were very favourable to a good game of Rugger in that rain had falien for two days previously The ground undoubtedly was much softer than it had been for many weeks.
Both teams were greeted with enthusiasm by the spectators as they entered the field.

From the kick off the play was even for a short time. The Welch were the first to attack and nearly scored, An infringement by "a Club player was penalized and a free kick awarded to the Regiment, An attempt at goal from this award narrowly missed giving the soldiers a Tend.
From the drop-out the soldiers again attacked bas. Scott gained ground for the Club with a well judged kick to touch.
At this stage of the game the sides were electing to scrum in- stead of throwing in from touch. '
The Welch again attacked but Grieve relieved.
From the half way line the Club forwards obtained possession and An excellent movement in which Bonnar, Wales. Lammert and Gold- man participated resulted in Gold- man scoring. Scatt with a good kick just failed to convert.
Kicking off the Welch forwards attacked with vigour and throwing it instead of scrumming from touch was now introduced
Massey was conspicuous for good play in the loose, and Scott, who played a sterling game all through, ticao handled dioult situations
and time again with great success.
For this period play was fairly even. Pluminer coming in for ap plause for good sound work.
The Club attacked and good work by the backs enabled Lammert to cross the line for the second time. Scart with a good, kick from a diffi- cult angle failed to add the extra points.
Hail time score: Club 6 points; Regiment nil.
The kick off saw good work by Wales,
Welch centre (whose name we unfortunately do know) and Scott.

The soldiers wheeled their scrum Beveral times and gained much Bonnar shone ground thereby, when these tactics were employed. Time and time again be stopped, forward rushes which might have. resulted in acores..
The Welch attacked and two efforts to drop a goal failed.
Play returned to mid field and at this time the Club back division were superior and a good kick by Scott put the Club in the soldiers' territory. The Club wheeled, their scrum and Riddell showed to ad. vantage.
The Welch were called upon to defend for some time, but two promising movements by the Regi ment were spoilt by bad passing

Lammert then scored a brilliant and typical try. Gaining possession in his own twenty-five, by evading, handing off and puoting ahead, be touched down for the Chub. Scott failed to convert.
