The general cargo returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 am yesterday showed an improvement of local imports over the previous day's figures. Through freights were still low. Eleven arrivals and fourteen departures were shown, of which four arrivals and eight departures were British vessels.

Pigeons As Passengers!

A Chinese mistress of a boat was also suramoned for carrying cargo in the form of 8 crates of pigeans, contrary to the conditions of her passenger license.
