PRESENTATION FROM CONGREGATION AND FRIENDS.
Members of Union Church, Hong Kong, last "evening bid farewell to the Rev. J. Kirk Maconpchic and Mrs. Maconschie when the assembly included representatives of all protestant denominations in the Colony and of the London Missionary Society with which the Church, in earlier years was closely associated. After ten had been served by members of the Ladies Committee, a public meeting took place in the Lecture Hall and in the course of the proceedings the departing Minister and his wife were pre- sented with a silver kettle and a cheque, To the presentation many residents in the Colony besides members of the church had contributed.
The Rev. J. H. Johnston, minister of Union Church, Kowloon, presided over the meeting, and in addition to the Rev. J. Kirk Maconachie and Mrs. Maconachie there were "present: the Bishop of Victoria; Miss Davies, and the Rev. H. R. Wells (London Mission); the Rev. F. C. Kaight Anstey (Wesleyan Minister); the Rev, H. V. Koop, the Rev. G. F. Stopford. C.F., the Rev. F." P. W. Alexander, C.F., the Rev. Frank Short, several members of the governing body of St. John's Cathedral, and a large number of adherents of Daian Church.
