Sergt, Hayward gave his evidence yesterday, and the enquiry was not concluded until 6.10 p.m. Counter allegations against the deceased's parents were made, Sergt. The jury, after a long consultation, found that the deceased :bad committed suicide while of unsound mind. They added two recommendations (1) The fury think that it should be ide clear to the Chinese, if it could be done, that marriage with Europeans, invoking British Law, can only be according to that Law.
