Six vessels brought 13,979 tons of general merchandise for this port of which the sa. Ningpo was the only British contributor with 130 tons of general cargo from Shang hai and Swatow. The s.s. Beljeanne (Norwegian) from Panarocken had 5,400 tons of sugar for Hong Kong while the ss. Tonjer (Norwegian) from Chinwangtan discharged 3,700 tons of coal.

Eleven vessels carried 21,366 tons of through freights of which aix British vessels contributed 8,219 tions. The best carrier was a British ship, the ss. Nellore from Yokohama and Otaru with 6,032 tons. The .. Beljeanne (Nor- wegian) was also second best car- rier with 5,000 tons of sugar,

Kong Sai, mistress of a cargo boat was before Commander J. B. Newill, R.N., D.S.O., at the Mariae Court yesterday morning for mak† ing fast to the s. deia whilst the vessel“ was underway in Harbour. The defendant pleaded guilty and stated that she was in the Central Fairway when the es deia ap proached. Her baby began to cry and she was obliged to leave the helm to attend it. Her boat merely passed alongside of the Hoid Police evidence stated that the de- fendant's boat was made fast to the vessel, and his, Worship imposed a fine of $10 with the alternative of ten days bard labour.

A New Norwegian Arrival......... A new Norwegian arrival was shown on the Harbour Office reporta for yesterday 9 am. The .. "Bel- Hanne owned by Christenson Smith of Oslo, arrived from Panarocken with 5,400 tons of sugar for this port. The vessel also carried B through carga. of 5,000 tons of sugar, The vessel is fitted with Diesel engines and has a registered tonnage of 4,269 tons. Captain F. Schjatte the master and there is Mesars. a crew of 34 Europeans, Java-China-Japan-Lijn are the local | agents of the vessel
