THE RESULTS.

The ladies event attracted con siderable interest and was won by Miss P. Hunt who had a start of three seconds from her sister Miss D. Hunt who came second. A good struggle was seen in the four lengths championship whith Sergt. You won, Sergt. Coleman coming in second. The Team Race develop ed into a close struggle between the Police and Police Reserve. Four men represented each side and the latter first took the lead, but the Polier third representative forged ahead and paved the way for his side's success. The Reserves finish- ed second.
Mr. Sousa's band rendered selec tions and tea was served during the afternoon.

Referring to the sports Mr. Wolfe mentioned that they had become more and more popular yearly, and each time the members had showa increased efficiency. This was very noticeable in the life saving event. In the past a few members outshone. the remainder, but now very many more reached a good standard and as a result competition became more opwa.

To-day's contest at Tungshan Beach is divided into four classes.
First, swimming contests for men. These consist of racing distances of soyda., 100yds, 150yds., 200yds.. 500yds, and one mile. The mile race starts this afternoon at 2 o'clock, and both and women can complete. Any style may be used in these races. The
second event is exclusively for wonien, It consists of the follow. ing races-50yds., free style 200yds, back stroke: 100yds... breast stroke. The third event is a rowing. race over A course of one mile.. Each boat is màgned by five per- soas. Men and women are to com pete separately in this event. The fourth and last event is water polo
In addition to these contests pro- fessionals are giving exhibitions in aquatics to the public. Over a thousand people, mostly young folks and students, are gathering at the Tungshan Bench to witness these
contests.
Mr. Wolfe remarked that H.E. the Officer Administering the Gov- ernment had desired him to express the regret he (H.E.) felt that the Water Police had not competed in the team race. It was.only appro priate that the Water Police should inke part.
Proceeding Mr. Wolfe returned thanks for all those who had helped in the organisation of the sports particularly Mr. Perdue who con vened the initial meeting and Mr. Hunt who had been of the greatest. help to the Committee.
Concluding Mr. Wolfe thanked the Victoria Recreation. Club for their kindness in placing the bath
their disposal. He hoped the Police would soot pay back this kindness when the new revolver range, near the Ladies' Recreation Club would be ready. It would certainly he placed at the disposal of the F.R.C. members when they required it.
Mrs. Southorn then distributed the prizes to the successful com petitors. Afterwards, on behalf of the Police and Prison Depart- ments, little Miss Elsie Hunt pre- sented Mrs. Southorn with a souvenir in the form of a bouquet in a silver holder. Three cheerst and a tiger were given for Mrs. Soutborn,
Mra. Southorn said: "I thank you. I feel that I have stepped into Mrs. Wolfe's shoes. I thank you all ever so much for the plea sure you have given me. I could not have enjoyed myself better any- where else."
