The amount of general merchan- dise discharged for this port during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yester- day was again below average Through freights were good and showed an increase over the pre- vious days figures
There were fourteen arrivals and the same number of departures. Four arrivals were British and six departures.
Twelve vessels discharged a total of 6,350 tons of which two British ships contributed 1,029 tons. The best returns were shown by two French vessels from Saigon, The 5.3. Albert Sarraut discharged, 9,100 tons of rice and general cargo.
Seven vessels carried210,400 tons of through freights of which four were British and carried a total of 4,570. tons. The two best carriers were the a. Tjiliboet (Dutch) with 3,773 tons of sugar from Batavis' and Balikpapan and the ".s, Borneo (British) with 9.000 tons of coal from Hongay and Hoihow.
