"An "already suggested, the expedition of General Pei Chang Hai against the Northern remnants in Shantung and Chikli" -shows every, sign of reaching a successful conclusion without any actual fighting Chefoo has already gone over to the Nationalists, and it appears that General Chang Tsang Chang is not contem- plating any resistance, for he has moved his headquarters to » Chinwangtao, while the forces west of the Lunho river are with- drawing.
Chiang Kai Shek has issued an appeal for whole-hearted backing of the eupreme authorities of the Kuomintang Party to enable it to act with authority in the settlement of the many problems with which it is freed. At present he states that they political leaders are too much occupied in carrying out their own ideas, while the military leaders pay but sennt attention to the Party.
