The story of a man's three escapes from custody was told at London Sessions. Clifford Johnstone, aged 31, a dealer, and Edward Durant, aged 29. an engineer, were found guilty of attempting to steal a motor-car in Old Bond-street on July 14th.

Detective Inspector Gooch, of the Flying Squad, said Durant was re- leased on licence from prison on May 8th last. In June goods valued at £40 were stolen from a shop at Welwyn Garden City, Hertfort- shire, by three men in a motor-car.
