Saturday's Figures. ⠀ Seventeen arrivals and eighteen departures were shown on Satur: day of which six arrivals and eleven departures

British ships. The local imports were good and thirteen vessels discharg ed a total of 12,378 tous, of which 6,887 tons were contributed by six British ships. The best cargo re- turn was shown by the s.3. Apocy.. (British) with 2,448 tons of rice Bangkok and Hoihow. The .. Toyotomi Maru with 2,400 tons of aalt from Tsingtao came next.

Through freights carried by eleven vessels amounted to 4,695 tons and four British ships carri- ed 7,918 tons. The best carrier was again a British vessel, the s.. City af Pekin, with 6,200 tons of general cargo from Dunkirk and Shanghai. The ad. President Monroe (U.S.A.) was second best with 5,000 tons from New York and Shanghai.

Yesterday's Statement. · Only nine arrivals and eighteen departures were shown for yester day of which five arrival and eight departures were ships. Both local imports and through freights were very low, the latter failing to exceed 2,000

tons.

Seven vessels discharged 4,441 tons of general merchandise for this part of which four British ships had 2,082 tona. The best carriers were the s. Fung Fu Chiu (Chinese) with 2,300 tons of coal from Keelung, and the 5.0, Chak Sang from Shanghai and Swatow with 250 tons.

Only five ships carried through freights which amounted to 1,378 tons. Four British ships were responsible for 1,371 tons, while one foreign vessel, a Japanese, had seven tons. The best carriers were the as Chaniung and Liancho (British) but both curried very low

cargoes.

"TAL LEE'S" MASTER FINED.

Captain Edward Midley, master of the s.s. Tai Lee appeared before Commander J.B. Newill, R.NG D.S.O., at the Marine Court on Saturday morning for allowing work to be errried out on board the 3.4. Tai Zee at 3 p.m. without the necessary permit.

The master pleaded guilty and said that as far. as the ships officers were concerned they had tried their best to prevent auch work being done, but interested parties complicated the matter. Commander Newill intimated to the defendant that the maximum penal. ty for such a offence was $1,000 but fined him $230.
