TREASURES ON VIEW IN LONDON.
One of the most important ex- hibitions of its kind was opened at the British Museum, when the public were allowed to view, for the first time, the Royal treasures of Ur of the Chaldeos, excavated by Mr. C. Leonard Woolley and his associates The exhibite date back millenniums before Christ, but so far se artistry and design are con cerned it is clear that the twentieth century has little to teach the Sumerians.
Pre-eminent in the collection is the wonderful helmet of King Mes- Kalam-Dug. Fashioned in gold, little holes pierced round its base show, that originally it was lined with a padded woollen cap. When it was found in the Iraq desert one side was crushed by the weight of the sand, but the damage has been made good.

Lord Merrivale maid that any evidence relating to the wife's petition would be admissible. It was quite immaterial whether it was admissible at some other part of the case.
Sir Walter opened the esse for Sir Max Bonn in reply to Lady Bönn's charges, and had not con- cluded when the court adjourned.
It is not likely that Sir Max Bonn's charges against Lady Bonn will be gone into and allowed to be published in the Press until next week.
